Officer Grant

Need I say more?
Notice the pajama pants, t-shirt that is too small, AND rain boots.

Does YOUR Daddy Do This?

Emma went to a birthday party on Friday night and came home with a bag full of goodies. One of the things that was inside was a bottle of nailpolish. So on Saturday night we were getting ready to attend a wedding reception. She had been asking me all day to paint her nails. I guess she got tired of waiting for me to do it, because when I came into the bathroom to brush my teeth, this is what I saw:

I have to admit. I was a little jealous! In almost 12 years of marriage, I don't know if Jamie has ever painted MY nails. I guess she has her Daddy wrapped around on of her painted little fingers! =-)

How Mommy Spends Her Time

For those of you who don't know, I have been selling Scentsy since October of 2008. I LOVE this product!! It is a wickless candle--I know you are thinking that doesn't even makes sense right. Well you melt wax cubes in a warmer or plugin using a 25 or 15 watt light bulb. And you don't have to worry about burning your house down!!

So, that being said, I tried my hand at a craft fair. Here in the community they had a "Girls Night Out" event. All the vendors were geared towards girly stuff. It wasn't a HUGE success, but I did it, and hopefully I'll get some more business because of it.

I even roped my mom into working the booth with me. Thanks Mom!! (and Jamie for helping me come up with the booth ideas and setting it up)

I'm so glad when Daddy comes Home....

Corduroy

I love my kids--most of the time. And tonight they did something that made me remember how sweet they can be. After they got out of the bath, I told Emma that she needed to do her reading. So I went off to find PJ's for both of them, and this is what I came back to:
Emma had chosen the book Corduroy, and Grant had snuggled down next to her, and she was reading to him. I was so proud on so many levels. And I love to think that when there is so much yucky stuff happening in the world, that there are still fun, wholesome, simple things to make me happy. Like a good ol' classic, and 2 kidos snuggled in my bed. Thanks Corduroy!

Garbage

This morning Grant had the opportunity to accompany me to the hair salon. Okay, he had no choice--but that's beside the point. I packed a bag full of his favorite toys, snacks, etc. He was playing nicely when all of a sudden he looks over and says, "Mom, why do you have a bunch of garbage on your head?" (He was referring to the foils) Luckily my hairdresser is also one of my best friends, and we just started to laugh.

Storms

Yesterday while out running errands we were talking about the weather. It got really cold and windy here yesterday, and this past weekend it had rained. Jamie and I were talking about whether or not we were going to get another storm or if that was it. When Grant piped up and asked if there was going to be and "GURRRRRRRRR?" We were confused, and I think he could tell, so he asked, "You know any GURRRRRRRRR, and lightning McQueen?" (translation= Thunder and Lightening)

FINALLY!!

Emma FINALLY has a loose tooth. She has friends loosing teeth left and right. Some have already lost 2 or 3 teeth. And her (younger) cousin has already lost teeth too. She is constantly coming up to me saying, "Mom, I think I have a loose tooth!" So this morning when she said it I didn't really think anything about it. But she kept her hands in her mouth for a really long time. When I finally went over to check, sure enough, it wiggled--a LITTLE!! She immediately wanted to call Daddy and tell him (I love that)! Maybe soon, we'll be posting about the FIRST TOOTH LOST!!

Disneyland In A Nutshell

I can't help myself. I had to post something, so here it is! When the laundry is finished, suitcases put away, and food back in the fridge, I'll give a recap of the trip with more pics. But it was a GREAT trip!

FREEDOM!!

FROM THIS... TO THIS...

Emma has learned to ride her bike!! This is such a great thing. Its like so many new doors have been opened for her, and our family. After the last couple of storms we had here, we have gotten some really nice days. So we have just gone out in the court and tried, tried, and tried again with the bike riding thing. And one time it was just like someone flipped a switch and she got it! Now all she wants to do it ride her bike.
Two nights this week we took bike rides as a family (probably 3+ miles). One time Grant rode his bike with training wheels--the whole way! The next night we started off okay, then he said, "Mommmy, my legs are killin' me!" So we turned around, took his bike back home, and I rode the big bike with the seat on the back. He thought it was pretty cool (we haven't used it since we was little). He kept asking me to--go faster!

Don't YOU remember riding your bike EVERYWHERE?? I do, and its so fun to see that through Emma's eyes again!

Spring Cleaning

Today was a beautiful day. But we did not spend it outside. We got up (earlier than I would have liked) to go help clean the church building at 8:00am. You've gotta love it when you kids ASK when they GET to clean the church again. So off we went to clean chalkboards, dust the pews, and set up chairs. Then, while we were all in the cleaning mood, we came home to give our surroundings a little TLC. Emma picked out the "tunes" (we always have to have music blaring when we clean), and everyone took a job. Grant ended up in the family room with some musical instruments, singing and dancing most of the time, but--he's 3!

I was so thankful the entire time we worked. I just kept thinking how long it would have taken me to do all of this by myself. I even got ambitious and cleaned the window blinds and door tracks! This kind of stuff makes we quite happy! (is that sad?)

CHANGES

Okay, I'm not some kind of freak who sits at the computer all day long looking at things. I know I just changed the background of our blog, but everytime I tell Jamie to pull it up and look at some new things he rants and raves at how hard it is to READ it. I know it was kind of hard to read, but it was a REALLY cute background. Kind of like a pair of shoes that is REALLY cute, but hurt your feet--you just suffer through--right?? I guess I finally took pity on him, and changed the background. Love ya hon!!

Wrestle Mania

Yesterday after church we had a wrestle fest at our house. Before we even got home, everyone had their own plan of attack. Jamie wanted to change his clothes and eat lunch, Emma wanted to change her clothes and then find the pretend frog. Because she was going to put it in her pocket and try to trick Daddy with it so she could catch him off guard, and Grant just wanted to strip down to his underwear and wrestle!! But Daddy won, they all changed their clothes, and ate lunch. While Daddy was eating, Emma hurried and made this sign:
Since I was the referee, I was supposed to hold the sign up at the beginning of the match, say GO, and blow the whistle. I am happy to report that the match was a tie, with no injuries to report.

Freak Out

I kind of freaked myself out with the countdown I put on the righthand side of the page. This was supposed to be a fun exciting thing for the kids--but everytime I log on I get a little bit more panicked with all the stuff that has to be done before leaving. (I guess that means I better stop blogging and get my rear in gear).
